George McDermott is a career veteran, serving communities across the country for over 30 years in both the sports and business sectors. As a Philadelphia native, George played all sports growing up in the inner city. His decision to focus on soccer at age 13 led to a long-playing career, eventually representing the US All-Navy & Armed Forces Team in 1983 while serving our country in the US Navy 1981-85. While playing at NCAA D1 Jacksonville University. George achieved All Conference and All-State Honors before signing professionally with the Jacksonville Generals in the AISA and a reserve contract with the Hershey Impact in 1987-88. After 30 years of coaching, training, scouting and recruiting, as well as serving in the Financial Business sector, George is continuing his service to communities in the Northeast with Vertical Raise.
