Growing up in Hastings, Minnesota, I played every sport I could fit into my schedule. If it involved competition, I wanted to participate and I wanted to win. When my playing days ended, I discovered I had a knack for coaching as well and thoroughly enjoyed working with athletes of all ages during my free time while at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. I have held a range of positions in secondary and post-secondary academic settings and have consistently seen the wonders that extracurriculars can do for a student’s wellbeing. Whether it be sports, the fine arts, or after-school clubs, studies have shown that students perform better in the classroom when they are involved outside of the classroom. Being a Fundraising Coach at Vertical Raise allows me the privilege to support the many programs that need funding in order for our children to be able to express themselves.
